SlowPaws Editorial Policy
Effective date: August 14, 2026
Maintained by: SlowPaws Editorial Team
SlowPaws publishes practical, non-medical guidance about senior-pet mobility, comfort, traction, rest, grooming, feeding, and home safety. This policy explains how we research, write, review, correct, and update that content.
Who is responsible for SlowPaws content?
The SlowPaws Editorial Team is responsible for product guides, comparison pages, checklists, product-selection explanations, and machine-readable brand information. A page names an individual expert reviewer only when that person has actually reviewed the final page and has agreed to be identified.
How we verify product facts
- Product names, prices, variants, dimensions, materials, packaging, availability, and care instructions are checked against current Shopify data and available supplier documentation.
- We do not infer specifications from product photographs when a verified specification is unavailable.
- The live product page is the final source for current price and availability.
- When a fact cannot be verified, we remove it or describe the limitation clearly.
How we use health and safety sources
Health, mobility, and home-safety statements are supported with sources that directly address the claim, such as veterinary associations, veterinary hospitals, animal-welfare organizations, academic research, or government guidance. We prefer original guidance and research over unsourced summaries.
SlowPaws is not a veterinary provider. Our products and articles do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent medical conditions. Sudden weakness, pain, dragging limbs, falling, breathing difficulty, loss of balance, confusion, or a rapid change in gait should be evaluated by a veterinarian.
How we write comparisons
Comparison pages use the same practical criteria for every product type: intended task, fit, dimensions, surface or environment, supervision, cleaning, limitations, current price, and return conditions. A SlowPaws product is not automatically described as the best option merely because SlowPaws sells it.
Reviews, samples, and commercial relationships
- Customer reviews must come from real submissions and remain eligible for publication whether positive or negative.
- Review incentives, product samples, affiliate relationships, or sponsorships are disclosed where they apply.
- We do not purchase fabricated reviews, undisclosed endorsements, or false expert approval.
- Customer experiences are not presented as medical evidence.
Corrections and updates
High-priority buying guides are reviewed at least quarterly and sooner when a product, price, safety source, or policy changes. Material corrections update the visible “Last updated” date. Minor spelling or formatting fixes do not create a misleading freshness date.
How to report an error
Use the SlowPaws Contact page to report an inaccurate specification, broken source, unclear safety statement, or undisclosed conflict. Include the page URL and the statement that needs review.
